About

AFine Studio uses strategy and narrative to unify, innovate and metamorphose companies through design. Solving business problems with design solutions, I craft identities and experiences that are easy to implement and easily scalable.

My name is Anna Fine, the do-it-all designer of this studio, and I have a 15 year career in advertising and technology. I use learnings from both industries to create more holistic experiences, unique perspectives, and ownable solutions for you. With a certification from Harvard Business School’s online certification program, CORe 2023, I align design initiatives to business aspirations. I am currently enrolled in a certification program through the University of Denver for AI and machine learning in the pursuit of blending design, product and AI.

DESIGN LEADERSHIP
By integrating deep into the team(s), you get the benefit of a full-time director without the commitment. My goal is to leave the design department with better work, better efficiencies, and empower design and non-design persons with better communication upon project completion.

REBRAND + UNIFICATION
Through several rounds of exploration and feedback, I identify the ideal core strategy and brand narrative that is translated into eye-catching, easily adapted, and scaleable design solutions.

GROWTH AND STOP GAP UX
Through an audit, trendscape, internal interviews and research summation, I identify problems and provide design solutions for immediate and/or incremental roll-out.

AI INTEGRATION
Utilizing the newest capabilities in tech, I integrate AI into the creative process building the capabilities of one to many.

  • As Senior Product Designer on the growth team, Anna works on projects small and large to increase order rate, merchant awareness, and explore potential purchase behaviors.

  • As senior designer, Anna helped brand and design websites in the crypto space.

    2023

  • As senior designer, Anna was tasked with orchestrating, ideating and executing product work for Slack, Salesforce and Tony Robbins.

    2023

  • As a senior product designer, Anna went in as support to bring about the Sex Pistols NFT launch via their wallet. She worked closely with the design team to ensure things moved quickly, and Figma libraries remained intact.

  • Design Director / Product Lead redesigning both the brand and website. Anna guided a small studio through the process of web development, content management, and a rebrand.

  • Looking to raise capital, Anna was tasked with coming up with a look and feel for Everseen to position themselves favorably. She translated this design into a pitch deck that raised £3.5M

  • As Design Director, Anna helped Policygenius rebrand to something more easily implementable throughout various levels and disciplines of the company. These efforts translated into the improvement of their site’s SEO, definition of the product library, and a better articulated brand strategy.

EMPLOYERS

  • As Head of Design, Anna not only led the rebrand initiative of Vitals in View to Limbo with full brand and site redesigns, but also built up the design team to bolster app features, define user strategy, and streamline the end-to-end experience.

  • As Design Director overseeing Droga5’s largest accounts at varying times, Anna oversaw all of JPMC’s business including Chase Private Client, Freedom, Ink, Sapphire, Sapphire Bank, You Invest, Chase for Business, Chase Bank, Chase Pay, and Chase Merchants. She later led and created pitches in a new format that became the blueprint for pitches thereafter — after adopting this new approach, Droga5 won several large accounts including Harley-Davidson and Petco. Anna led a new “playbook” approach to brand evolution for Mattress Firm that additionally led to other similar clients. Anna was as a direct manager, nurturing at least 3 designers at any given time — all of whom received promotions internally or got a higher title at the next job — while managing her respective teams.

    2018 – 2019

  • As Design Director overseeing work for Verizon new business including go90 and Juice, Anna worked within an agile environment with nested teams. For Juice (which later became Visible), Anna directed an immediate team of 11 and was a direct manager for 2. She was asked by the client to stay on the project upon completion (beyond the initial scope of the project) to help teach the design system and work closely with the internal design team at Verizon. When the head of new business left Verizon for Droga5, he offered her a job.

    Freelance to Full-time

  • Anna taught several courses, but primarily focused on 3rd-year Digital Design before taking hiatus. The class taught the basics of digital design and user experience, design research, and crafting a narrative. Students not only won awards, but earned internships and jobs with their projects from this class at: Nike, Mother, Droga5, R/GA, Sunday Afternoon, Commercial Studio, Design Studio, and many others.2014 – 2019Part-time

  • Anna was asked to participate in the inaugural class for Google Creative Lab, 30 Weeks — an entrepreneurial, nine month incubator/accelerator created to teach designers how to be entrepreneurs. During such time there, Anna worked on six ideas that she ultimately did not fully pursue. Instead, she took her learnings and helped other startups. She wrote about rapid ideation and failing fast, here.

  • As an interactive art director, Anna’s primary clients were Google and Converse. During her time she worked on the launches of Material Design, Androidwear, Google Glass, Converse, and Converse CONS.
